    I’ve always contended that there’s no such thing as crisis communication. The rules, including those you articulate so well, apply normally to communication as well as during crises. Crises are different because:
    1) Everything speeds up (even more so because of social media)
    2) You’re making decisions with less information and what you have is imperfect
    3) The stakes are higher than usual and the scrutiny is greater

    For these reasons, a strong base going into a crisis — reputation, everyday communications and teamwork — is the best preparation for crises.

  3. Yes, This is a great publication that really helps with my uni studies. Warren’s comments do justice and I agree with Craig in the sense a company that’s in post-crisis is always one in pre-crisis. Meaning the crisis lifecycle never ceases, rather a crisis is an opportunity for renewal.
