Hi Craig,

Yes I agree with Craig B, you are now more than ever seen as a thought leader in the industry. Maybe up for a PRIA fellowship nomination in 2010?!

Maybe next year it would be good to see some posts in the interplay between PR and current business trends, how they will impact us in the profession (maybe a guess posting on ETS - if it ever gets through). I'd also like to see you on some industry association panels presenting on some of the topics you've done here. And maybe some lists - "Craig's top 10 two-way symmetrical campaigns of the noughties"?

Laura

PS - i just google Australia'd you and you're number 4 for those search terms. not bad!

Yeah, I know what you mean re organisations not being big on the symmetrical dimension. We can but try...

Thanks for your kind thoughts. The feeling is mutual.

Craig - indeed, I count myself fortunate to have connected with you, from half a world away. Just when it seemed that social media PR discussion was intellectually bankrupt, I read your cogent and interesting posts. We may disagree about the primacy of two-way symmetry (I'm all for the two-way part, just unconvinced that many organizations really want the symmetrical part), but I always feel a certain edification after reading your posts. (Okay, enough with the boot-polishing, eh?)

Let's get on a thorny topic!

That is very, very kind of you Craig.

I guess pushing myself to make the effort to blog and exposing my thoughts was definitely an attempt to raise my profile to get work - if some of my thoughts have actually been in the 'leadership' category then that is what most of us 'business bloggers' hope for - the judgements made of these thoughts is out of our hands to a large degree.

...even if those hands belong to the 'great persuaders' - public relations practitioners!

Craig, great to have someone like you giving a much needed strategic perspective to public relations.

I know you were probably too modest to mention it in your post but let's not forget thought leadership - your blog has definitely positioned you as a thought leader in the industry.
